Mary Culverwell
I was born in San Francisco. I have worked most of my life in sales with commercial interior furniture dealerships throughout San Francisco. I fell in love with art when the Keane Art Gallery was on Broadway Street in San Francisco. I very young but remember when my father and mother would take me there. I was completely memorized by those Keane eyes.
In the eighties I started collecting the likes of Tarkay, Watanabe, Susan Rios, Dorothy Spangler, Jim Buckels, Mark King and Luciano Pavarotti. Yes, I have a picture by the opera singer. He drew very simple things that he was compassionate about such as whales, flowers and his homes in Italy.
Art makes me smile and colors make me happy.
I am looking forward to being apart of the “Studio Above the Post.”

Combining her 30 years of design and sales experience, she launched her own company in 2010. Jane Steel+Co is an independent sales representative firm based in San Francisco, representing cutting-edge textiles and furniture manufacturers for corporate interiors. Jane sold her firm in 2017 and is now focusing on her own personal interests, including art and serving the design community.
I look forward to being part of the Studio above the Post and supporting local artists!
Choosing my favorite painting is impossible, but I will submit an American Painting that moves me: Christina’s World by Andrew Wyeth. This is a psychological landscape/portrait that I find both beautiful & moving

She is passionate about Bay Area artists and has been a volunteer for ArtSpan for many years, helping the organization create artist studios, exhibit space and pop up gallery space in derelict buildings around San Francisco. She is delighted to support the Studio Above The Post.
While modern art is her greatest love, she literally wept when seeing Michelangelo’s David in person. An art tour of Havana, Cuba was also an incredibly pivotal moment in her art lover’s life.
Jane Sullivan
Art is an exchange. A give & take of ideas from one to another. A letter, a painting, a sculpture et al. are messages in need of an interchange. A place. I’m here to lend a hand in making Margi Sullivan’s Art Above the Post a happening art gathering. How could it not be? It’s Margi’s!

Van Gogh’s Starry Night is one of her favorite paintings, as it reminds her of a late night staring at the sparkling sky in a small southwest village in France.
