I’m a late-comer to photography. I began to take it seriously while traveling the far-reaches of the state for my work at the California Public Utilities Commission. The more I saw of California, the more I upgraded my cameras. With retirement, I could concentrate, oddly enough, on the places closer to home. Chief among them has been Point Reyes National Seashore.
Now, I do have to confess that my definition of Point Reyes includes such places as Nicasio; I hope I may be forgiven this laxness. Not only do I take photos all over the area, broadly understood, I take classes and eat the area’s food and admire its cows, birds and elk promiscuously.
My colleagues in this exhibition, also fans of Point Reyes (perhaps in a stricter sense), have been an inspiration to me. I’m happy to be in their company. I hope you enjoy our work.
