Growing up in Africa, a place known for its natural beauty, Yusuf finds inspiration in his birth country as well as his new home in California.  Magnetized by the allure of subjectivity provided by nature and the daily routines that reflected life — specifically the feelings and stories of people in both communities. 

This is your unique opportunity to hear from Yusuf about his journey through the world, and through his detailed, vibrant layers of color pigment and shapes across canvases.

This Sunday is your last chance to dive into the curious, imaginative and colorful world of Joel Beck. As an influential and enigmatic artist and cartoonist, Beck created the world of underground art and comics. SFGate said "his art was cheeky and fantastic, ranging from wild fairies and dragon-type beasts to the travails of ordinary folks in a complicated world. A poster he inked in 1968 of a reclining Daisy Duck with prominent breasts has become a classic as sought-after as his books."

Joel Beck was an influential and enigmatic artist, as well as the creator of celebrated for his efforts in the world of underground art and comics.

Opening Reception is Saturday, April 20th 12 pm - 4 pm. The show will run through May 12th with viewings on weekends and by appointment. You can schedule a visit here

As Interior Design wrote, “In the design world, we know Stanley Abercrombie as a man of many talents. A writer, he has authored more than a dozen books as well as penned hundreds of articles for 46 different magazines and newspapers. At Interior Design, he served as editor-in-chief for 14 years following stints at the AIA Journal, Interiors, and Abitare in America. A practicing architect and designer, he worked in the offices of Marcel Breuer & Associates and John Carl Warnecke. Add curator, critic, and educator to his curriculum vitae. New to us, at least until now, is his expertise as an artist.”

His solo show includes some 40 works in such mediums as collage and drawings reflecting his travels, keen eye, and affinity for Rome where he was a fellow at the American Academy. Come experience it for yourself and raise a glass to all of Stanley’s multitude of talents.
